For more than a quarter of a century, the Wayne County Foundation has helped generous individuals and families leverage their charitable intent to create lasting benefits for the community. Their legacy is one of “philanthropy in action” and thoughtful concern for others.
Many times, these “legacy gifts” are entrusted to the Foundation at the end of a donor’s life, when – ironically – we have little or no opportunity to express the appreciation such meaningful acts deserve. No longer will this necessarily be the case. The Foundation has created the Legacy Society to thank donors and ensure their gifts will be recognized during their lifetime.
The Legacy Society is comprised of caring individuals who have made formal plans in their will or estate plan to benefit the community through a gift to the Foundation. A simple declaration of your intent is all that is required. No confidential details need be disclosed.
Members of the Society will be recognized in a beautiful wall-mounted Magaw sculpture in the Foundation office, in the Foundation’s annual report and at special events held in their honor. Donors may also choose to make their gift anonymously, without public recognition. Additionally, society members have access to special tax planning resources and periodic events to explore the finer points of charitable gift planning.
It is a special person who provides for the future of his or her community. Now, through the Legacy Society, such thoughtful and generous commitments can be recognized appropriately and be given the chance to inspire others.
We invite you to become a member of the Legacy Society - the Foundation’s family of donors whose legacy will enrich our community today, tomorrow and forever.
