Lifelong Richmond resident Stanley Vigran considered forming a private foundation as a way to support causes that were important to him and his family including education, religion, and the arts.
As a former Wayne County Foundation board member, he understood that there was a way to use the Foundation to create a fund with fewer complications than any private foundation would have. By creating a supporting foundation called the Vigran Family Foundation, he and his family retained many of the benefits of a private foundation but also had the more favorable tax benefits of gifts through the Wayne County Foundation.
The Vigran family remains actively involved through a separate board which oversees the operations of the organization. Today, Stan’s sons carry on the family tradition of giving in the Whitewater Valley and remain involved in the causes that were so much a part of their father’s work.
Grant requests are accepted throughout the year and should be mailed to 33 South Seventh Street, Richmond, IN 47374.
